Tanner, Ferrando, Elkins, Rash, And Roberts Collect Shriners Cup Wins

Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway returned to racing on Saturday, July 14th for the 2018 Shriners Cup. Throughout the course of the night money was raised by the Shriners to help transportation costs for children and much more. Five classes would report for duty including the Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

Portland’s Joey Tanner returned to victory lane, in the Super Late Models, to record his third win in the division which is the most out of any driver. Tanner also accomplished the feat after starting in the very back. Grey Ferrando, from Stayton, became the newest name apart of the long IMCA Modified win list in 2018 at Willamette. Salem chauffeur Doug Elkins parked it in the winner’s circle for the third occasion in Super Sport action and is now tied for the most victories this year.

Jeff Rash, of Lebanon, won his first Sportsman race of the current campaign. Lastly, Gresham gasser Kevin Roberts picked up his second Street Stock triumph at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval.

Willamette Speedway is back on Saturday, July 21st for the return of the Wingless Sprint Series. This will be the last time this year you’ll be able to see Non-Wing 360 Sprints. Dwarf Cars, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets will also be on the card.

Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $35.00.
