Lebanon, Oregon- One of the biggest races of the entire 2017 Willamette Speedway will take place on Saturday, July 8th. The Clair Cup, presented by Crocker’s Cars, is the race that honors longtime track owner and operator Clair Arnold. In addition to some great racing the 1/3-mile clay oval will host a bicycle giveaway during intermission and a massive fireworks display at the end of the night. Classes in action include the Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

Classes will also be competing for enhanced purses. The Super Late Model feature winner will collect $1500.00 while the IMCA Modifieds is $1000.00 to the victor. Super Sports will pay $400.00 to win and the Sportsman is $350.00 to first place. The driver that bests the field in the Street Stocks will get $250.00. We would like to send out a big special thanks to Crocker’s Cars for adding to the IMCA Modified purse as well as donating all of the bicycles.

Collen Winebarger is atop the win list in 2017 in the Super Late Models. Winebarger has two while Bricen James and Joey Tanner have one victory each. Also, something to note is the three drivers mentioned above have a three-way tie for the points lead.

There has yet to be a repeat winner in the IMCA Modified ranks. Bricen James, Collen Winebarger, Dustin Cady, Jesse Williamson, Wade Taylor, and Ethan Dotson have all won once. Dan Deibele has racked up two triumphs in the Super Sports. Jordan Wright, Chris Mott, and Gil Pickett are single race winners.

In the Sportsman division James Slover has two wins while Jeff Rash, Jeff Titus, and Sandy Sanders have won once. Finally in the Street Stocks both David and Brian Cronk have managed to park it in the winner’s circle two times apiece with Kevin Roberts the only singe race victor.

Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Tickets are $16.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $14.00, Youth (6-12) $10.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $55.00. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
