Lebanon, Oregon- Even though the weather would be on the warm side it wasn’t enough to stop racing at Willamette Speedway on Saturday, June 24th. In addition to hosting the Wingless Sprint Series the historic 1/3-mile clay oval would have three other classes on hand. Those three divisions were the Super Sports, Sportsman, and Hornets.
Dan Deibele would park it on the front stretch in the Super Sport ranks. It marked the second occasion this season that the Lebanon driver has won. Toledo’s Jordan Wright was second followed by Chris Mott, of Salem, in third. Salem veteran Gil Pickett placed fourth over James Slover, from Lebanon.
The Sportsman would be back in town and the crowd would witness Jeff Rash get the job done. It is the first time this season Rash has won in the class. Ryan Emry, of Corvallis, was the runner-up with Lebanon’s Glen Hackney finishing in third. The rest of the top five finishing order would be Tom Whiting and Eric Lindquist, out of Burns, in fourth and fifth respectively.
Last but not least were the Hornets. Tracy Muse kept the winning streak alive as the Albany native recorded win number four of 2017. Jason Gilman and Chloe Van Sant were second and third. Tahlan Rodgers managed to finish fourth with Ryan Trask grabbing fifth.
Willamette Speedway will be hosting a three night spectacular beginning Thursday, June 29th, and ending Saturday, July 1st. IMCA Modifieds will be in attendance all three events and the support class for all three dates is IMCA Sport Mods. It will be the big three night finale for the 2017 Wild West Modified Shootout.
There will be a special $75.00 Three Day Pit Pass being offered for those wanting to visit in the pits but please note there are NO REFUNDS. Single night pit passes will remain $30.00 each. Overnight parking will be allowed but it is $10.00 a night and must be paid at the gate the day of the event.
Thursday and Friday the Pit Gates open at 3:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing starts around 6:00. These two dates will be offering a $25.00 Car Load Special which means you can pack as many people in your vehicle and get into the races for just $25.00!
Saturday Pit Gates open at 1:00 PM, Front Gates 3:30, and Racing at 6:00. Tickets are $14.00 for Adults, Junior/Military/Senior $10.00, Youth (6-12) $5.00, 5 and Under FREE, and a Family Pass (2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) $35.00. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
