Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway would get the majority of the Saturday, April 29th racing program in the books before a storm would prematurely cancel the final feature of the night. The Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets would all see their main events get completed while unfortunately the Late Models would not get a chance to close out their night.

The Super Sports main event witnessed Chris Mott take care of the field. Mott, out of Salem, would build a decent size lead and managed to win by a healthy margin over the rest of the field. Newberg’s Brian Winkler and Toledo native Jordan Wright were respectively second and third. The balance of the top five included defending champion Randy Barley, of Albany, and Lebanon’s Jeff Rash in fourth and fifth.

The Sportsman feature would be a tale of two races as a rain shower around the halfway mark would present a brief halt in the racing action. James Slover, of Lebanon, would be the class of the field in the first portion of the race but in the closing half Jeff Titus turned up the heat and got to the front to get the win. Slover would place second and Jefferson’s Loren Krusi crossed the wire in third. Fourth went to Portland veteran Jody Tanner and Eric Lindquist got fifth.

In the Street Stocks David Cronk was the guy to beat. Cronk, from Portland, would suffer mechanical issues which prematurely ended his evening. With Cronk out of the race Shannon Horn and Kevin Roberts would put on an incredible show with several lead changes among the two. Roberts, of Gresham, would eventually secure the top position and the win. Mulino’s Horn was a respectable second with Jody Tanner, performing double duty, finishing in third. The rest of the top five would be made up of Portland’s James Baker and Erik Jarnport, from Monmouth, in fourth and fifth.

Last but not least were the Hornets. Despite being involved in an incident on the first lap Hillsboro’s John Gartner would not give up. Gartner would work his way through the field to grab the lead with just a few laps to go and won the main. Albany’s Tracy Muse would be the runner-up followed by third finishing Crystal Flath of Corbett. Michaela Campbell was fourth followed by Lebanon’s McLain Beaudoin in fifth.
