Lebanon, Oregon- Fans of Street Stock racing in the Pacific Northwest will be happy to know that they are in for a real treat on Saturday, September 3rd. Willamette Speedway will be bringing back the coveted Iron Giant with $3000.00 going to the winner and $100.00 to start. It is by far the biggest Street Stock race at Willamette in 2016 and one of the highest paying events in the entire region. The presenting sponsors for this event are Nature Quest, 1st Step Clinic, 2nd Step Dispensary, and the Recreation Station.

The main event will be fifty laps and is expected to have a twenty-four car starting grid. In addition to $3000.00 to the winner, second place will receive $1000.00, while the third place finisher gets $500.00. There will also be five $100.00 bonuses up for grabs courtesy of Sureflow Concrete Pumping Services. Those include the Fast Time Award, winner of the Fast Trophy Dash, winner of the Slow Trophy Dash, the driver that passes the most cars will receive Hardcharger, and there will also a Hard Luck Award. ENTRY FEE IS $60.00 FOR SATURDAY NIGHT ONLY.

During the course of the night, there will be some door panels being auctioned off. This will be conducted by Paul Moses of the Junior Dirt Slingers Kids Club.

The last Iron Giant ran at Willamette Speedway was in 2012. The winner that night was Kyle Yeack. Yeack already has two wins this season including last weekend.

Also, for any Street Stock drivers interested there is a possibility of a touring series in 2017. A meeting is looking to be set in place during the upcoming season and several things will be discussed including rules. If anyone has any questions, feel free to contact Chris Sine at (541)-554-1071.
