Willamette Speedway gave a valiant effort to get the second scheduled race of the season in on Saturday. However, rain hit the facility after qualifying and shortly before the heat races were ready to roll off.
Dedicated fans and teams toughed out the rain delay with high hopes of getting the show in, unfortunately Mother Nature had her own plan and it didn't include racing.
Willamette Speedway would like to give a huge thank you to those fans and teams for making the trip to the track. We know for some it's not far but others travel quite the distance for race day. We really appreciate all of your support.
For those fans who did come out and paid entry you can redeem your rain check at the front gate this Saturday and receive free admission.
This Saturday night we will get back to racing with the Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Street Stock and hornet divisions scheduled on the card. This will be a points race for teams who sign in and have their sights set on the Willamette Speedway track championship.
We hope to see all the fans fill the grandstands and come watch the best dirt track racing action in the West. We appreciate all of you and you're the reason we do what we do on Saturday nights at Willamette Speedway. Have a great week everyone and we'll see you Saturday!
