Willamette Speedway To Host Two Races This Weekend; Karts On Friday August 21st

Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway will race not once but twice this weekend. The historical facility will open things up with the Karts on Friday August 21st while the 1/3-mile clay oval will shred the clay on Saturday the 22nd. Classes in action on Saturday include the IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and the one and only appearance of the Late Model Lites.
General Admission to the Friday Kart race will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 4:00 PM and Racing is scheduled to begin around 6:30.
Collen Winebarger continued his dominance in the IMCA Modifieds and managed to win his seventh race last weekend. Dustin Cady is the only other driver to win more then once with two trips to victory lane. Criag Cassell, Jeremy Shank, and Alex Stanford have all made one visit to the winner's circle.
Gil Pickett has amassed the most victories in the Super Sports, with five. Clay Debban and Brian Smith both have three wins while Jeff Rash has two as does Randy Barley. Chris Mott has managed just a single visit to the winner's circle.
Six wins have went to Sandy Sanders as a driver including last Saturday night. He does have one win as a car owner when Kevin Williamson got the job done earlier in the year. Tom Yeack and Jeff Rash both have collected three wins apiece while Chad Slover has two. Single race winners include Dennis Archer and Brian Winkler.
Kyle Yeack is by far in control of the Street Stock ranks. He has put up nine wins including five of his last six starts. Justin Evans is the only other multi-feature victor with his three triumphs. Steve Jorgensen, Brian Cronk, Doug Scott, Kevin Roberts, J.J. Irvine, and Bricen James have all won once.
On Saturday the Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00. Tickets for this event are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $10.00, Youths (Ages 12-6) $5.00, and Children under the age of 5 are FREE and a family pass will be offered for two Adults and up to four Youths for just $35.00.
