Willamette Speedway would have a good crowd for Ladies Night to watch some pretty exciting racing. The historic 1/3-mile clay oval would host the Super Dirt Late Models, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks on Saturday May 9th. By evening's end there would be some new faces in victory lane.

John Duty, now residing in Molalla, would take care of business in the Super Dirt Late Model feature. Taking the lead fairly early Duty would master the bottom of the race track in his Don Frank Flooring/Big Sky Landscaping/Mid Ohio Graphics/Metro Services #15 Rocket. Duty would pick up the victory to become the third different winner in as many races in the division.

The Metro Services/Dog Lover's Gold Dog Food/Northwest Gas Lines/Rose City RV #29 Rocket of Portland's Brian Cronk was second followed by Bend native Rob Mayea, in his J&S Farms/Cornett Racing Engines/Gray's Automotive #37 Rocket, in third. Coming across the line fourth would be the Mid Valley Farms/Bayer Crop Science/Farmland Tractor Supply #2 Trak-Star chauffuerd by Tangent's Trevor Glaser while Darren Coffell, from Bend, was fifth in the Driving Force Graphics/Tube Shark Portable Tube Benders/Jimsflagsales.com/Clements Racing Engines #46 Rocket.

Albany's Randy Boyd was the car to beat in the early goings of the Super Sport main event. Driving for Brian Brown the Brown Racing #10 Barnbuilt would put up a decent battle with Dennis Archer. Archer, of Halsey in his Archer Floor Covering #39 Swartz, would overtake Boyd. But with just five laps to go Albany native Randy Barley would get passed Archer and put his Dennis Automotive & Tire/Snap On Tools #13B Rayburn in the winner's circle.

The Mott Racing #16 GRT of Chris Mott, from Salem, was second and Albany's Brian Smith was third in his Knothole Market/Pratnum Co-Op/Hanson Automotive Machine/James Gang Pizza #99 Rayburn. Randy Boyd was fourth and the Swan Island Sandblasting/Hanson Automotive Machine/James Gang Pizza #61 MasterSbilt of Jerry Casey from Vancouver, Washington got fifth.

In the Sportsman division Tom Yeack was once again fast come feature time. Yeack, of Brownsville in his Cascade Outdoor Power Equipment #49 Pro, got the lead early in the main event and ran away with it once he fully secured the position. He would keep his machine in front to score the victory.

Brian Smith, doing double duty and driving the Glen Hackney owned Wirth Wireless/Hackney Racing #2 Swartz, was second while third would be the Jon Inskeep Racing Engines/Les Schwab Tires of Coos Bay #75 Dirt Works of Coos Bay's Dave Foote. Brian Winkler from Newberg would place his Flatt Muffler/Doerfler Farms/Extreme Motorsports #88 Rayburn in fourth followed by the Royalty Homes #43 Avenger driver by Corvallis' Kevin Williamson for car owner Sandy Sanders in fifth.

Finally in the Street Stocks it would all be all about Lebanon's Justin Evans. Grabbing the lead early Evans, in the Al Flora owned Albie's Medical Transport/Allied Medical Transport/Monty's Racing Repair #99 Cougar, would dominate. Evans would keep his car out in front for the remaining distance and captured his third win of the year.

The Doran Racing #7D entry of Albany's Roy Doran was second while Bricen James, also of Albany and driving for Talyn Roberts, would end the night in third in the Big Sky Landscaping #T3 Camaro. Walton's D.W. Northy would place his Northy Racing #55 machine in fourth and in fifth was the Casto Racing #3 Monte Carlo of Jeff Casto from Cottage Grove.

Next weekend the historic 1/3-mile facility has two events planned. First Friday May 15th will be the second race for the Karts in the infield track. General admission to the Friday Kart race will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The Pit Gate will open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:30.

Saturday May 16th will feature racing action for the big track. Classes on the card include IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks. It should be a great couple of nights of racing for fans to enjoy.

On Saturday the Pit Gates will open at 1:00 PM, the Pit Meeting will take place at 2:30, Front Gates open at 3:30, and Racing starts at 6:00.
