Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway will be very busy once again as the facility will host two great nights of action starting with Friday August 8th as the American Sprint Car Series-Northwest Region will pay their final visit to Willamette this year. Support classes include the Crocker’s Cars Super Sports and around ten to eleven selected Kage Karts as support classes.
The X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models make their return on Saturday the 9th along with the Wirth Wireless IMCA Modifieds, Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman, and Street Stocks. We do want to let folks know that the start time for the race on Friday is around 6:30 PM while Saturday will be the normal 6:00 start time.
The ASCS-Northwest Region has visited Willamette Speedway twice this year with Jared Peterson and Kyle Hirst emerging victorious. A good car count of drivers from Oregon, Washington, California, and British Columbia are expected to be on tap for the event.
The Crocker’s Cars Super Sports will be raring to go. Bricen James has had an incredible 2014 campaign picking up five wins in his debut season in the division. But Gil Pickett is starting to catch up with him on the win total after collecting his third of the year last weekend. Brain Thompson and Tim Archer are the other two winners with each of them winning just once.
The X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models are excited to be back after a few weeks off. Joey Tanner has amassed three main event wins this season while Rob Mayea and Justin Duty are the only two-time winners in 2014. John Duty, Steve Moore, Collen Winebarger, and Casey Vitale all have won once, so far.
The Wirth Wireless IMCA Modifieds are back too with Matt Mitchell, Jeremy Shank, Collen Winebarger, and Alex Stanford all tied atop of the win list with two wins apiece. Craig Cassell, Monte Bischoff, and Kyle Yeack and the only drivers that have managed to win on just a single occasion.
Brian Smith broke the five-way tie for most wins last week with his victory in the Sportsman Spectacular, it would bring his win total to three in the Albany & Eastern Railroad Sportsman classification. Brian Winkler, Brody Pompe, Jeff Rash, and Ron Berry all find themselves tied with two wins while Jeff Marson and Steve Moore have recorded just one win.
Bricen James would earn his second Street Stock victory last weekend putting him at level pegging with Kyle Yeack as both have won twice this year. Justin Evans still has the most victories with three while Ron Shinkle and Erik Jarnport have score just a single triumph during the current campaign.
