Lebanon, Oregon- Fans of Willamette Speedway should be excited for the coming campaign as the 2014 season hopes to be a good one in the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Model ranks. The 1/3-mile clay oval’s premier class is hoping to draw a very large car count throughout the entire year due to the great folks at X-Factor Race Cars putting up a healthy point fund for these drivers to battle over. The class is slated for twenty-one total dates at the historic facility this year.

“The thing with the Late Models this year is that it’s a division up for grabs,” commented current Willamette Speedway announcer Cory Penfold, “Brian Cronk got really fast at the end of the year and some of the other younger guys are looking good. It’s going to be a year that will probably surprise people on who the champion will be.”

The X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models will have several big races this year including the Crockers Cars Firecracker 100 on July 5th, Les Schwab Tires Clair Cup during Memorial Day weekend, the Coors Clay Cup on July 19th, and of course the Strawberry Cup presented by Napa Auto Parts and the Topless Showdown in June.

Since the facilities renovation one thing is certain and that is Trevor Glaser has mastered Willamette Speedway. Conquering the X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Models the last few years he has won two straight championships in the division and with a total of thirty-one starts he has captured sixteen main event wins and finished among the top five a total of twenty-seven times.

Glaser was impressive last year putting together two major winning streaks the first a five race winning habit that lasted from May to late June. The other was another five race winning streak from early July to late August.

In the past ten years there have been four different title winners with two of them being repeat champs (Trevor Glaser and Rob Mayea). Glaser has won all of his seven career X-Factor Race Cars Super Late Model championships within that time span including a streak of four titles during the years of 2005 to 2008.

Despite the dominance of “T-Glaze” in the last four races victory lane was graced by four different winners including John Duty, Jeremy Shank, Justin Duty, and Brian Cronk. The latter two, Justin Duty and Cronk, earned their first career victories and are an indicator that the youth of the sport are now becoming serious threats not just for trophies but championships.

Don’t miss a moment of the action at Willamette Speedway this season as 2014 looks to be an incredible year at the “Stock Car Capital of the Northwest”. For the latest news and stories be sure and visit the track’s official website at www.trophymotorsports.com.
