Willamette Speedway Back In Action This Weekend

Lebanon, Oregon- Willamette Speedway will be the place to visit this weekend as they will be busy with two nights of racing. Friday June 21st will see the Karts in action for the fourth time this year and Saturday the 22nd will be the Hot Rod Bettie’s Tattoo Fast Fifty. Classes that will compete include the DIRTcar Super Late Models, Super Sports, Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
The fine folks at Hot Rod Bettie’s Tattoo will be adding to the purse in all five divisions. The DIRTcar Super Late Models will compete for fifty-laps with the winner receiving $1,500.00, the Super Sport main is $600.00 to win, the Sportsman feature is $350.00 to win, Street Stocks $225.00 to win, and Mini Trucks $125.00 to win. They will also have the Bettie Bus Mobile tattoo salon on site. Be sure and sign up for a chance to win a free tattoo courtesy of Hot Rod Bettie’s.
The victory lane for the DIRTcar Super Late Model ranks has simply been owned by Trevor Glaser. The defending champion has won five of the first seven shows. Russ Sell and Joey Tanner are the only other winners this year with two victories each. In the Super Sports Clay Debban became the newest winner this year in the division. Gil Pickett is the only driver to win twice while drivers who have been victorious once include Bob Jeffrey, Steve Moore, and Brian Smith.
Todd Miller remains the only driver that has won more than once in the Sportsman classification. Brian Brown joined the win list earlier this week on Tuesday June 18th. Jeff Marson, Brian Smith, Clyde Rood, and Phil Housworth are the other 2013 victors.
It’s a tie for most wins in the Street Stocks for this season as Bricen James and David Cronk are level at three each. Cronk won the first two races and James has won the last two will they break that tie this Saturday or will a new face visit victory lane. Justin Evans is the only other driver to win in the Street Stock ranks with just one victory. In the Mini Trucks Don Croy has visited the winner’s circle three times over his teammate Kenny Keefer who has won just twice.
General admission to the Friday Kart race event will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The pit gates open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:45.
Saturday the pit gates will open at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM. Admission prices are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00.
The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will hosts weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
