Willamette Has Busy Weekend Ahead

Lebanon, Oregon- This weekend fans of Willamette Speedway will get to see two great nights of action. First on Friday May 17th the Karts will host their third race of 2013 to kick start the racing weekend. On Saturday the 18th the 1/3-mile will get back in gear with DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks on the card for the fifth race of the season.
“The year has started out great for us here,” commented Chris Nofziger, General Manger of the Willamette Speedway, “so far we have had four straight races with excellent weather each Saturday. This weekend’s races are going to be great and we hope everyone can make it out.”
So far in 2013 the Trevor Glaser has won two out of the four DIRTcar Super Late Model features. Russ Sell and Joey Tanner are the only other two drivers that have visited victory lane so far this year. The IMCA Modifieds have produced four different winners in as many races. Those winners include Mark Carrell, Kyle Yeack, Jeffrey Rivers, and Dustin Dittman.
The Super Sport class has had three different winners in three main events. Brian Smith became the latest victor with the other two races going to Gil Pickett and Bob Jeffrey. David Cronk has started 2013 in incredible fashion winning three out of four races in the Street Stocks with Bricen James the only other winner so. Kenny Keefer and Don Croy both have managed to win main events in the first two Mini Truck events.
General admission to the Friday Kart race event will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The pit gates open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:30.
On Saturday the pit gate opens at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM. Admission prices to the race are Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00.
The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will hosts weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
