Willamette Speedway Host Doubleheader This Weekend

Lebanon, Oregon- Of the six divisions that ran last Saturday four drivers managed to perform clean sweeps at Willamette Speedway. Some very exciting action took place at the historic 1/3-mile clay oval which opened up the 2013 campaign. This weekend the Karts are expected to open up their year on Friday April 26th and the second race of the season on the big track will take place on Saturday the 27th. Classes that are in action include the DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, Sportsman, and Street Stocks.

Joey Tanner would emerge victorious in the DIRTcar Super Late Model feature after Russ Sell dropped out while leading due to mechanical problems. Mark Carrell had the field covered in IMCA Modified competition to earn a clean sweep. The long awaited return of the Super Sports brought a familiar face back into victory lane with Gil Pickett earning the win.

Todd Miller was a clean sweeper in Sportsman action to start the year in the right direction. David Cronk had his way with the Street Stocks to not just win the main event but sweep the division in opening night.

General admission to the Friday Kart race event will be FREE of charge. Pit Passes are $10.00 and Car and Driver fees will be $30.00. The pit gates open up around 4:00 PM and racing is scheduled to begin around 6:45.

Admission to the race on Saturday is Adults $14.00, Seniors/Military/Juniors (13-17) $12.00, Youths (12 and Under) $6.00, Family Pass (Two Adults and Up To Four Youths) $35.00, and Pit Passes are $25.00. The pit gate opens at 1:00 PM, front gates 3:30 PM, and racing should be getting started around 6:00 PM.

The Willamette Speedway has operated since the 1960’s and is a facility where high car counts and great racing are the norm. The venue will hosts weekly action comprising of DIRTcar Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Sportsman, Super Sports, Street Stocks, and Mini Trucks.
