Lebanon, Oregon- Saturday April 20th got the season started with domination in the Street Stock division. David Cronk started his 2013 campaign off in proper fashion with a victory in the class as well as a clean sweep. It was a great way to start the season for the Portland driver in his Metro Services/Gassner Trucking #29 Camaro.
The seven-time Willamette Speedway champ would start fourth and wasted no time to get to the front. Getting the lead by lap five Cronk would lead the rest of the distance despite Albany’s Bricen James right behind him most of the way. James could keep in stride with Cronk but when it came to passing him he was unable to do so.
“I had a great time,” commented Cronk, “the car was good, the track was good, every just ran really good. I have to send special thanks out to Ron and Carol Lawson and to my wife Elizabeth.”
Bricen James would place second in his James Gang Pizza/Lebanon Auto Body #13 Monte Carlo followed by Michael Byram from Lebanon in the Western Metal Fabrication/Newport Candy Shoppe #01 Camaro. Christina Foster from Dayton drove her Busy Bee Cleaning/Pam Pam’s Auto Wrecking #68 Camaro to a fourth place finish and fellow Dayton driver Larry Rametes crossed the line in fifth in the TR Points #11 Camaro. Earlier in the evening David Cronk was the winner in both the heat race and trophy dash action.
Street Stocks will be back in action on Saturday April 27th for their second race of 2013. Also in action will be DIRTcar Super Late Models, IMCA Modifieds, Super Sports, and Sportsman. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
