Lebanon, Oregon- The 2013 Mini Truck season at Willamette Speedway has started off pretty good for Don Croy of Prineville. The Crook County native dominated the competition to perform a clean sweep of the night. It would be the first victory every at Willamette for Croy and his Carson Oil/Guy’s Automotive and Lube/Prineville Sign and Banner #24 Toyota who started on the outside pole and lapped everyone except second place.
“The night went pretty well for me considering our practice dates were all cancelled,” commented Croy, “I was off on the set up a little bit in the heat race but in the dash and main I had it dialed in. “
Tim Baker of Sheridan would finish in the second sport and managed to keep his Walters Racing/The Hangout Sports Bar and Grill/Kartco Racing #3 Chevy on the lead lap. Defending champion Mark Vonsild of Scio would cross the line third in the Xtreme Motorsports/Scrham Brothers Excavating #21½ Chevy followed by Jefferson’s Jennifer Robbins in fourth in her Progressive Tile and Marble #12 Mazda. Croy would complete his clean sweep by picking up wins in both the heat race and trophy dash earlier in the evening.
Mini Trucks will have the week off before their next race of the season. The class will come back to Willamette Speedway on Saturday May 4th. For more information log on to www.trophymotorsports.com.
