2008 CLASSIC RULES

 

Weight Rule: Minimum 3300 lbs with driver after race

Full size American made car 1950 or newer, original rear wheel drive from factory.

Full cage required

Gas Only

Fuel Cell Mandatory

Weight Jacks ok

No Slab bodies; No Aluminum bodies or panels.

No after Market bodies

Frames and bodies may be interchanged

Rub Rails (optional) must be mounted flush against car body

Maximum tube size allowed is 2 inches

No coilovers, factory struts ok to correct year and make of car.

Windshield or wire mesh screen must have at least 2 straps

Original equipment manufactured body parts mixing/matching is allowed.

All cars must have full appearing body.

OEM suspension parts. No pan hard bars, pull bars or devices of any kind unless factory to year and make of car.

OEM fuel injection o.k. to year and make of car.

Tubular bumpers will be allowed, front and rear, provided they are covered by a nosepiece or bumper cover.

Bumpers are required, front and rear if exposed.

All cars must have a front firewall and floor pan on both sides.

OEM rear ends only.

No aluminum heads or blocks.

THE FOLLOWING APPLIES TO ALL CLASSES:
The following actions will result in suspension: use of nitrous oxide, alcohol or drug use, dumping gas, oil or chemicals, going to another pit spot in anger, use of traction device of any kind. NEVER approach the flag stand, you will be listened to after the races. During the race: work on car during yellow must be done in the pits. Minor work and refueling ok on red, with two (2) pit crew per car. All tire changes must be done in pits. Any car overrunning time by .9 seconds will be disqualified.

ALL CARS: Must have muffling device resulting in 95 dba at 100 ft. The loudest car over the limit will be sent to the pits for the night. Super traps to be used only with other muffling device. Must have pick up hook, hoop or chain. Must be self starting with full size battery and must be strapped down. Must have clutches except in automatics. All added weight must be bolted to frame with a minimum of two ½ inch bolts. All added weight and drivelines must be painted white, silver, or florescent. Any rub rails must be 1inch from body. Bumper ends must be inset 2 inches from outside edge of tire and must be smooth. No sharp edges. Must have track approved floorboards. Acceptable appearance of car will be by track approval. Numbers must be 18 inches on top and sides. Number must be in center of side door. Must have 5 inch numbers on front and rear of car. No chrome or mylar numbers. (interferes with timing light)

Full face helmet and gloves required. No short sleeves. Fire suit and neck brace highly recommended. No mirrors, wings, radios or anti-freeze. ALL CARS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS MUST BE REMOVED BY OCTOBER 25, 2008.
